Casey Pettersen

Trosky Regional Director, 15U Head Coach

Casey is Trosky Regional Director for Trosky Bears. He owns Field of Champions, where the program trains, and runs Trosky Bears as part of Trosky Baseball, the national organization founded by Nate Trosky. He's building Trosky Bears around complete player development, with a system behind it for getting players opportunities to play at the next level. He stays close to that work directly, showing up at practices and games across every team throughout the season.

Matt Padilla

Trosky Regional Director of Coaching, 2027 Trosky National Team Coach

Matt brings professional baseball experience to Trosky Bears as Regional Director of Coaching. He has also been selected as a coach for Trosky National Teams for the upcoming 2027 year. Drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies, he coached at the collegiate level at American River College and Diablo Valley College. He has also head coached 16U and 18U teams for both the Columbia Angels in Houston, TX and the El Dorado Hills Vipers in California, including a run of players who went on to play at Oregon State. His resume also includes coaching the Trosky National Team at the Arizona Fall Classic and the Rockies Fall Scout Team, and serving as Pitching Director for the Houston Astros Urban Youth Academy. He's also scouted professionally, first as a Northern California scout for the Colorado Rockies, later for the Houston Astros, evaluating talent at the highest levels of amateur baseball.

Zach Franklin

Co-Founder, Trosky Regional Director, 13U Head Coach

Zach co-founded Trosky Bears alongside Casey, and together the two of them also co-own Field of Champions. He played four years at Newport High School, earning team captain and All-State honors and helping the team win a state championship his senior year, then went on to a four-year career at Washington State University as a two-time team captain. As Co-Founder, Zach works directly with players on hitting, catching, and infield play.

Coaching Staff

Chris Lalonde

18U Head Coach

Chris pitched at Bellevue College before transferring to Centenary College of Louisiana, where he became a fixture in the bullpen as a 6'6" reliever at the Division I level in the Summit League. His senior season included one of the biggest wins in program history: two innings of relief to secure an 8-4 upset over No. 1 ranked Texas A&M. Chris has spent many years coaching at the 18U level, bringing that Division I experience directly to Trosky Bears pitchers.

Stephen Englund

18U Underclass Head Coach

Stephen is a Bellevue native and a second-round draft pick of the Washington Nationals, with professional playing experience at the highest levels of the game. He has coached competitive baseball for more than 10 years, working closely with players on swing development and approach and translating his professional experience into game-situation confidence at the plate.

Eric Kapfhammer

15U Head Coach

Eric attended the United States Naval Academy before earning degrees from the University of Puget Sound and Seattle University. His coaching career spans more than a dozen seasons across levels through 18U, most recently as Mount Si High School's head C-Team coach. Eric pairs modern training methods with tried-and-true fundamentals, and his philosophy centers on the mental side of the game and building a connected team culture.

Josh Dawson

14U Head Coach

Josh is a graduate of Roanoke College, where he pitched, and played infield and outfield. That versatility shows up in how he coaches. Josh works with players at every position, with a steady, team-first approach built around confidence and competing every pitch.

Nick Hamann

13U Head Coach

Nick has coached in the Seattle area since 2013, working with players across multiple levels of the game. He played collegiately at Cochise College, De Anza College, and Texas College, after serving as team captain at Argonaut High School in California. Nick focuses on player development on the field and in the classroom.

Kevin Corder

Coach

Kevin is a North Bend, WA native who played football and baseball at Mount Si High School before playing infield at Yakima Valley Community College and moving on to Whitworth University, where he started 36 games as a junior and continued through his senior season.

LJ Daane

Coach

LJ is a Kirkland native and 2024 graduate of Juanita High School, where he was a multi-sport athlete in football and baseball. He joined the Trosky Bears coaching staff after his playing career.

Lukas Delisle

Coach

Lukas is a former collegiate catcher at Olympic College and Pacific Lutheran University, originally from Bellingham, Washington. He coaches across all positions and brings particular depth behind the plate, working with catchers on the foundational and advanced skills that drive consistency and game management.

Aidan Dougherty

Coach

Aidan joins the Trosky Bears staff fresh off a Division I playing career. A Snoqualmie native and Mount Si High School graduate, he played at Linn-Benton Community College, the University of Connecticut, and the University of Washington, earning JUCO All-American honors and an NWAC Championship at Linn-Benton along the way.

Kevin King

Coach

Kevin was selected by the Seattle Mariners in the sixth round of the 1979 MLB Draft and played 10 seasons of professional baseball, reaching the Triple-A level. A graduate of Chief Sealth High School, he has spent the decades since developing players throughout the Seattle area.

Marc Rittenhouse

Coach

Marc was drafted by the Florida Marlins in the 2001 MLB Draft and played professionally in their organization. Before that, he was a four-year letterman at the University of Washington, serving as team captain his senior year and ranking among the program's all-time top ten in both career runs and walks. At Newport High School, Marc helped lead the team to a state championship and earned All-State honors as a senior. He has coached at the youth and high school levels for many years, with a philosophy built around fundamentals, playing loose and fast, and competing every pitch.

Evan Williamson

Coach

Evan is a graduate of Kentlake High School, where he helped lead the team to a North Puget Sound League 3A title as a senior and earned All-League honors. He played two seasons at Pierce College before finishing his college career at Whitworth University, pitching in the Northwest Conference.

Dalton Beaty

Director of Infield

As Director of Infield, Dalton leads infield development across the Trosky Bears program. He played three years of varsity baseball as a utility player before a two-year collegiate career at Southeastern University, competing at the NAIA level as a second baseman and outfielder. He has coached at Skyline High School for six years, where his focus stays on the fundamentals of the position (footwork, actions, range) while building the discipline that comes from doing that work well.

Max Brown

Hitting Instructor

A Mount Si High School product who helped the team win a state championship, Max was drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 2015 MLB Draft out of Kansas State University, following two seasons at Bellevue College. He played two seasons in the Diamondbacks' minor league system before continuing his career overseas, playing professionally in Australia's ABL and representing the New Zealand National Team. Max has been an instructor at Field of Champions for five years, leading offseason hitting groups for Bears players.
